Dr. Ziyaad Mahomed

Associate Professor, Lead Researcher (Shariah) for CoE in Social Finance, INCEIF University //
SC-OCIS Visiting Fellow, Oxford UK

Dr. Ziyaad is an Associate Professor, Lead Researcher (Shariah) for the Centre of Excellence in Social Finance, and Head of Online Programs at INCEIF University, Malaysia. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, UK. With over 25 years of experience, he has advised financial institutions and regulators in 20 countries on Islamic finance, regulation, social finance, fintech and sustainability, training over 12,000 individuals. Dr. Ziyaad has received numerous awards for his work in social finance product innovation and fintech solutions. His fintech contributions include app development, tokenization, Shariah audit on crypto offerings and national policy development. He is also a consultant to the World Bank. He chairs several Shariah boards internationally, including HSBC Amanah (Malaysia) and Tajbank (Nigeria). Dr Ziyaad holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), an MBA (MANCOSA), a BA (Hons) in Business (Finance) (ARU), and certification in the Islamic Sciences, and has nearly 100 publications.
